WHAT IS THE AVERAGE ANNUAL SALARY FOR A FIRST-YEAR FLIGHT ATTENDANT?

Total flight attendant compensation is conditional based on credit hours (actual flight hours) and per diem (pay while on trip status). The average estimated annual salary for a first-year flight attendant is $27,000. 


Effective April 1, 2024:

        • New hire (0-12 mos.) - $25.46/credit hour        
    • After 1 year - $26.88/credit hour (2025 rate)
      • After 2 years - $29.12/credit hour (2026 rate)

 

 

 

WHEN IS PER DIEM PAID?

  • Flight attendants will begin to earn per diem of $2.20/hour after IOE.

• Per diem is paid from the start to the end of your assignment, beginning when you report to your base. 

• If a flight attendant is assigned Airport Ready Reserve, per diem starts at check-in and stops at the release time, if not utilized for flying.

 

 

HOW WILL I BE PAID FOR RESERVE DAYS?

• Pay for reserve is part of your 75-hour per month guarantee.

• Once you reach 75 credit hours for the month, additional assignments are paid above guarantee at your hourly rate.

• Airport Ready Reserve hours also receive per diem of $2.20/hour

• Hour credits for reserve assignments are based on actual flight time hours. Reserve minimum pay is 4 hours per day.

 

 

WHEN DO UNION DUES BEGIN?

Union dues are payroll-deducted and begin ninety (90) days after the first day of initial training. Dues are $25 each pay period.

 

 

OTHER PAY INFORMATION

• Minimum Day Pay is 4 hours

• Holiday Pay: 150% for 6 holidays

• 10 Hour Minimum Rest implemented ahead of the FAA requirement

• Hotel in base available by request when rescheduled to layover due to IROP (irregular operations)

• Deadhead Pay/Credit – Pay when the Company needs you to travel to a different base location to start work is paid at 100% pay / 75% credit hours

• Passport Renewal Reimbursement: 100%
